Simrane Ngapp Group
A loan of $4,575 helps a member to buy and resell sheep and goats.

Simrane Ngapp Group's story
Ibrahima is the president of the Simrane Ngapp group, which is a Serer term meaning “someone who does not respond to greetings.” He is a 60-year-old livestock farmer. He is sitting in front, raising his right hand and holding the leg of a white sheep. He is married to a livestock farmer and is the father of eight children aged 4 to 17. They all attend school.
He is a creditworthy customer of VFS and has been in business for over 12 years. With this loan, he plans to buy and resell sheep and goats. This will enable him to strengthen his business and increase his income.
To stock up, he goes to the weekly markets in his locality and then resells the animals in his neighborhood and surrounding areas.
The income he earns enables him to provide for his family's needs (health, food, education, hygiene, etc.). Fierce competition, livestock theft, and the high cost of animals are some of the difficulties he faces
Ibrahima says he wants to open a large sheep farm in the future.
