Tamanisha's story
I’m a proud wife, mother, and GiGi — born and raised right here in Houston, Texas. As the oldest of seven siblings, leadership and responsibility came naturally to me. I grew up in the historic Acres Homes community, where entrepreneurship was all around me. In the 1970s, our neighborhood was filled with business owners — my maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts, and uncles all ran their own ventures. Watching them inspired me to one day build something of my own.
In 2003, I attended the University of Houston, majoring in Business and Accounting. At that time, I was a single mother balancing work and school, so launching a business wasn’t quite possible yet — but the dream never left me. I wanted freedom. Freedom to create, to build, and to spend more time with the people I love.
By 2007, while holding down a corporate job, I took a leap of faith and started my first business — an online fashion boutique. It was exciting and taught me valuable lessons about business ownership. But I wanted to build something sustainable, something that would allow me to leave corporate America behind.
In 2010, I began preparing taxes for family and friends, and that’s when everything clicked. I realized I could combine my education and passion to truly help people. From there, my business grew rapidly, expanding to include business consulting services. In 2018, I officially left my corporate job — and I’ve been a full-time entrepreneur ever since.
