Premal Shah, President of Kiva.org, speaks at The Clinton Global Initiative
September 21, 2006By: Mairead Johnson
Kiva's President Premal Shah today spoke at the Clinton Global Initiative as a panel member for the working session "Poverty Alleviation: Knowledge is Power: Using Technology to Get Ahead". This working session was webcast live by the Clinton Global Initiative, and Kiva.org is extremely grateful for the exposure we have received through this invitation.
Perhaps the highlight of the conference was Premal's introduction to Bill Clinton, who said he had read all about Kiva.org and loves the work we are doing. We had never thought to include "Bill Clinton knowing about us" as a milestone!
Kiva.org's inclusion in this event has been an recognition of our achievements using technology to distribute debt capital to entrepreneurs in the developing world, and we appreciate this official introduction to those who attended the conference.
