Kiva's 28th Fellows class hits the field
September 16, 2015By: Aurora Lee
It may be hard to believe (we’re still in shock!) but we just hosted our twenty-eighth class of Kiva Fellows here at our headquarters in San Francisco. Before embarking on their 4 month fellowships, fellows join us in SF for a week of action-packed training. Kiva knows that people around the world endeavor to help each other and this class exemplifies that with 30 fellows from 12 different countries joining together to volunteer with Kiva in 10 countries and 7 cities across the US.
Get a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes at Kiva in the pictures below and stay up-to-date on KF28’s adventures on Twitter and Instagram!
Premal kicks off training week and welcomes our fellows to the Kiva family.
Fellows get right down to work learning everything they can about Kiva, our Field Partners and the borrowers they’ll be working with.
Luckily the Nairobi Kiva staff was in town and provided a lot of hands on training to the fellows who’ll be assisting in their region.
A little Q&A time for Kiva Zip fellows who will be stationed in the U.S.
Fellows do mock borrower interviews so they’re prepared for the real thing.
These fellows may never look at marshmallows and spaghetti the same ever again.
During graduation our newest fellows pin themselves on the world map…
And then run through a tunnel of cheering supporters to officially become Kiva Fellows.
Good luck out there KF28!
