A loan of $2,175 helps a member to buy groceries, drinks, bread-making products, vegetables, fruit, meats, cold cuts and other products to sell.

Mujeres Mbarete Group's story

The group named "Kuña Mbarete" was formed by the union of friends and neighbours in the city of Luque, who seek the way to be able to improve their quality of life and that of their loved ones. They are also within the poverty-elimination programme.

One of the members is Ana, who earns a living through sales. She has a small grocery store that she works in every day from early in the morning. She mentions that her business was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, but she would not be defeated and battles for her family to be able to continue giving them everything that she could not have.

She asked for this loan to buy a variety of products to be able to stock up her business and buy groceries, drinks, bread-making products, vegetables, fruit, meats, cold cuts and other products to sell.

Note: Only one person appears in the photo, but this is a group loan. It was not possible to take a group photo to avoid the mass gathering of people during the Covid-19 pandemic.

In this group: Mirian, Marta, Nilda, Ramona, Antoliana, Mariela, Celina, Alicia, Natalia, Ana, Esmilce, Aida, Yadira, Fátima
