A loan helped to buy more fabrics and other materials that will be used to sew clothes to sell.

Victoria's story

Victoria is 48 years old and from Liberia. She is married and has 4 children, three of whom are still in school and live at home. Victoria completed school up to the sixth grade. For the past 14 years, she has run a tailoring business where she sews clothes to sell. She learned how to sell from her mother and started the business with her own savings. Victoria uses a car to transport supplies to her business site and works Monday through Saturday for 10 hours each day.

Victoria applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva Lending Partner. With this loan, she will buy more fabrics and other materials that will be used to sew clothes to sell to her good clients. She likes her business because it makes her an independent woman. Her dream for the future is to build houses for her children. Victoria wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
