Amparo sells cereal grains and seeds in Tapachula. For a long time she sold casually in temporary places or wherever she was able to set up for a few hours. Her ambition was always clear: get herself a permanent place where she could attend to her customers more comfortably and offer better service.
The main obstacle was getting the necessary money together to rent a shop. For years she worked in a disciplined manner, setting aside a portion of each sale to save enough money. In the end she managed to open her own premises from where she could offer a wide variety of products including beans, rice, lentils and corn, among other things.
Having her own permanent place has let Amparo better organise her job, get a more a steady clientele and work in a more orderly manner. To continue improving her workplace, she is asking for a loan to allow her to buy basic items for dealing with her merchandise each day: sacks, bags, funnels and other supplies she needs to store and deal with her products adequately.
Her aim is to continue improving her customer service and take care of those details that make a difference to a business that, simple as it may be, represents years of work and perseverance on her part.
