A loan helped an artist open a store front to share art and culture with his community.

Domingo's story

I am a first-generation Dominican American born in Harlem, raised in Washington Heights, and now reside in the South Bronx. As an artist, I use my heritage and the places I've loved to live to inspire one-of-a-kind pieces. Pieces that I offer these to the many people in my community.

My primary motivation for my business is educating the youth and people in my community about not only my culture but also the importance of being able to recycle and give a second life to the items around them. In my business, I strive to use the rawest materials possible and try my best to use those materials in my art in hopes of encouraging the people around me to learn about their culture and to be able to think about all the items around them and the second life they can take on in their homes.
