A loan helped to purchase more clothes, local foodstuffs, and other assorted items to increase her business.

Isatu's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 42-year-old Isatu from Wilberforce Branch. She is married with three children between the ages of three and 24 years old, and all of them are attending school. She started this business to care for herself and support her family.

She runs a retail business and sells clothes, local foodstuffs, and other assorted items. She has been in this business for 24 years now. Her other source of income comes from her husband. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this COVID 19.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more clothes, local foodstuffs, and other assorted items to increase her business. Isatu says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and take care of her family's welfare. In the future, she would like to establish it on a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.

This loan is special because:

It provides access to funding in areas where there are limited alternative sources of finance.
